Almost Half Of Russians Ready To Fight For Country On Battlefront -- RT

44 per cent of Russians are ready to join the military and defend their country if a war breaks out, while only 10 per cent said they would prefer emigration to a safer country, a recent poll has shown.

Of those ready to fight, 23 per cent said they expect to be summoned under conscription and 21 per cent said they would go to the front as volunteers. 26 per cent said they are not subject to conscription and 20 per cent could not answer the question.

My Comment: After 9/11 many of my Russian family members and friends were surprised by how united the Americans were to confront the Taliban. I always joked with them (in a serious manner) that the question was never on whether we should go to war .... the debate was on how fast can we get our soldiers and special forces into Afghanistan.

Both countries are very different .... but I do know that if an invader does attack Russia .... just like the U.S. .... there will be hell to be paid against the aggressor. And as to that 44% who say they will go to war .... I predict that it will quickly jump to 90% .... if not more.
