House To Vote On Defense Appropriations Next Week -- The Hill

The House will take up the Defense appropriations bill on the floor next week, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said Thursday.

The $608-billion appropriations bill, which funds both the base Pentagon budget and the Afghan war, is expected to have hundreds of amendments to it and will lead to late-night votes on the floor next week.

The House will also be voting on a bill to require the administration to explain the effect of sequestration, which Cantor said he hoped could be passed by suspension.

My Comment:
With sequestration hanging over the defense budget, this passage may just be moot.
