Mexico's Drug Cartels Transfer $40Billion A Year
Mexico’s drug trafficking cartels repatriate almost $40 billion every year after laundering the money in the U.S., newspaper El Universal reported Wednesday, citing an interview with retired U.S. Army General Barry McCaffrey, the White House’s anti-drug czar from 1996 to 2001.
The criminals use 10 highways in the U.S., particularly in Texas, to transfer the money in cash to Mexico, McCaffrey said, according to the newspaper.
