Will The West Intervene In Syria?

Is The West Inching Toward Military Intervention In Syria? -- Howard LaFranchi, Christian Science Monitor

More countries are talking about implementing at least a partial no-fly zone in Syria and taking other steps to address the needs of the swelling numbers of refugees.

Is the West inching toward military intervention in Syria?

The likelihood of action that is closer to the role the West took last year in Libya seems to be growing, as more countries talk about implementing a no-fly zone and steps to address the needs of the swelling numbers of refugees in the Syrian conflict.

In France, where the right is hounding President François Hollande for “abandoning” Syrians battling the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, the government is now raising the possibility of establishing at least a partial no-fly zone. My Comment: We are already involved in Syria's civil war, the question is to what degree do we want to continue to be involved in the chaos and mayhem that is happening in Syria today. Personally .... I hope we avoid what is happening there like the plague, and I believe that this is the sentiment for a majority of Americans and Europeans .... unfortunately .... we are probably going to become more involved for the simple reason that our allies in the region (Saudi Arabia, Gulf states, etc.) want us to be involved, and our political leaders are listening to them and not to us.

Thank you Bardock99 for your comment. The road to hell is always paved with good intentions, and Syria has the potential of being one of those roads. I have confidence that the Syrian people will sort it all out at the end, while our involvement may make a horrific situation even worse.

Do you really think that the FSA can win withouth a really strong help from EU USA and the Golf countries?

Syria is having military support from Iran, until theirs a no fly zone or some AA missiles, the FSA cant run Bashar from the "thrown".

Tks for running this blog. Regards
