When House Republicans called a hearing in the middle of their long recess, you knew it would be something big, and indeed it was: They accidentally blew the CIA’s cover.
The purpose of Wednesday’s hearing of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee was to examine security lapses that led to the killing in Benghazi last month of the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three others. But in doing so, the lawmakers reminded us why “congressional intelligence” is an oxymoron.

My Comment: The US consulate was overrun and looted after the attack .... including the disappearance of a good number of documents and correspondence. The idea that the CIA would still stay in a building after knowing that it's location was probably compromised .... hmmmmm .... I doubt it .... so yesterday's disclosure was probably moot. But ... I am still not going to give the Republicans a pass. They should as a formality make sure that nothing that involves the CIA be publicly disclosed unless the CIA says so .... to do otherwise will put lives at risk and compromise US intelligence efforts.
