Fidel Castro Suffered A Stroke, Venezuelan Doctor Says -- Miami Herald
A Naples doctor said former Cuban leader Fidel Castro is near ‘a neurovegetative state’ after suffering a stroke.
Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and his state of health is so precarious that he has trouble feeding, speaking and recognizing people, said a Venezuelan physician who assured El Nuevo Herald that he has access to firsthand sources and information.
“He suffered an embolic stroke and recognizes absolutely no one,” said José Marquina, a respected doctor who in the past has claimed to have direct information about the illness affecting President Hugo Chávez of Venezuela.

My Comment: For someone who no longer has any power .... he is still able to draw a considerable amount of attention to himself. As to what is my take on this story .... I am skeptical .... but the sooner that he is gone .... the better.

Don't quite understand the American modern view of Cuba. Your comment also sums that up. Although I have heard a more logical view that the continued embargo against Cuba should be lifted as it is outdated, outmoded and bears no logical sense in this day and age.
"but the sooner that he is gone .... the better."
Why... I don't think he is a danger on his deathbed, and I would argue that wishing him a quicker death will accomplish anything.
Plus, isn't he pally with Nelson Mandela. Surely Mandela would never associate with such a villain! (Sarcasm)
He's no saint, but the world has grown out of the "communism must die" mentality.
Why is it that majority of Cubans (I say majority because there will always be that other percentage) love Castro, but those who have not lived under his reign do not understand the man or hate him outright or, well, show the typical American attitude that stems from the 60's...
Hmm...
Thank you D. Plowman for your comment. I will have to disagree with your view that most Cubans love him. I've been to Cuba on a number of occasions .... I can say categorically that the vast majority who live in Cuba DO NOT love Castro.
¡Cuba libré!
And that's not just my drink order.
