Syria’s Chemical Weapons ‘Safe For Now’ - Moscow -- RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, December 22 (RIA Novosti) - Chemical weapons are under the control of the Syrian government, which has consolidated them in one or two locations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday.

Western nations are seriously concerned Syria’s chemical weapons could “fall into the wrong hands,” Lavrov said.

My Comment: The Russian foreign minister is very precise on the state of Syria's chemical stockpiles .... even stating that the Russian military advisers who have been training Syria's military have also been keeping a close watch over its chemical arsenal. Others think that this involvement is even more deeper .... some Israeli intelligence blogs are now openly speculating that it is Russian military trainers and specialists who now control Syria's chemical and biological arsenal .... and that Syrian forces have been put aside. What's my take .... if the Syrian military wants to use these weapons, there is very little that Russia can do to stop them.
