Military Unprepared For Major Budget Cuts -- Examiner
And so it begins.
This week, the White House budget office directed the Pentagon to begin initial plans for billions of dollars in automatic cuts that may (operative word is “may”) start taking effect on Jan. 2.
According to Defense Department spokesman George Little, “We don’t have all the specifics yet. This really just has begun. We don’t have specifics on programs or personnel actions.”
If the cuts become mandatory, the results could be catastrophic for the nation’s military defense.

My Comment: From an outsider's point of view (i.e. my point of view) ..... it looks like everyone is in complete denial of what is coming down.
