Rep. Duncan Hunter May Seek Probe Into Delay On Medal Of Honor For William Swenson -- McClatchy News
WASHINGTON — A California congressman said Tuesday that he was considering asking the Pentagon inspector general to investigate why President Barack Obama hasn’t approved the nation’s highest military award for gallantry for a former Army captain whose nomination has been stalled at the White House since last summer.
Rep. Duncan Hunter Jr., R-Calif., said that before requesting a probe, he wanted to give the Army and the Defense Department a final opportunity to explain the delay in awarding the Medal of Honor to former Army Capt. William Swenson for valor for acts he performed during a 2009 battle in eastern Afghanistan.

My Comment: Former Army Capt. William Swenson made the unforgivable action of condemning US rules of engagement in Afghanistan .... ROEs that this White House probably signed onto. Does the White House want to award such an honor to an officer who (according to his colleagues and a Medal of Honor recipient) deserves it .... but made that unforgivable sin of speaking out .... sighhhh ... unfortunately yes.
