The media’s man inside the National Security Agency, it seems, is an outside contractor.

After a week of top secret document leaks outlining the extent of the NSA’s surveillance of both foreigners and Americans, the whistleblower behind those revelations has come forward. Twenty-nine-year-old Booz Allen Hamilton staffer Edward Snowden, who describes himself as an “infrastructure analyst” for the NSA and has at times worked for other contractors including Dell, allowed himself to be identified Sunday in an interview with the Guardian, saying that his conscience drove him to expose the “massive surveillance machine [the U.S. government is] secretly building.
