Europeans Wants Answers On The NSA Surveillance Program

European Commission Demands Answers About Prism Data Requests -- BBC

The EU's Justice Commissioner has written to the US attorney general, questioning him about America's data surveillance programme, Prism.

Viviane Reding wrote that she was concerned America's efforts "could have grave adverse consequences for the fundamental rights of EU citizens".

A series of leaks suggest major tech firms have passed information to the National Security Agency, the US government's snooping organisation.

Experts say they could now be sued.

Which is rather sad, there should be outcry over this.

The photo was done before the NSA scandal hit. But .... you are right. Europe's response has been muted when there should be outraged. I live in Canada, and I learned last week that we have a similar NSA program in this country. Response from the public has been next to zero.
