Calgary Orders Evacuation Of Entire Downtown Core -- CTV

The City of Calgary has ordered an evacuation its entire downtown core -- an area where approximately 350,000 people work on a typical Friday.

Twenty-five communities throughout southern Alberta are under an evacuation order, displacing tens of thousands of residents. An estimated 75,000 Calgarians have already been ordered to evacuate, since floodwaters began spreading across the city on Thursday evening.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is en route to the province, and he’s expected to tour the worst-hit areas with Alberta Premier Alison Redford and Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi.
