Pakistan's top diplomat traveled to Afghanistan on Sunday to foster rapprochement with Kabul.

KABUL—Pakistan's top diplomat traveled to Afghanistan on Sunday to foster rapprochement with Kabul, but Afghan officials said they still were skeptical about whether Islamabad would deliver on promises to bring the Taliban into peace talks.

Sartaj Aziz, the national security and foreign affairs adviser to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, visited Kabul in a bid to repair relations between Kabul and Islamabad after months of acrimonious rhetoric—and to offer a formal invitation to Afghan President Hamid Karzai to visit Pakistan.
