USS Kitty Hawk & The Big Wave (Video)

Guessing this was when Kitty was in Yokuska replacing the Midway, and probably up in the North Pacific Ocean/ Bering sea

We took green water over the bow on Enterprise CVN-65 in November 1987 while up in the area of Adak. That's approximately 75 feet above the water line.

The purpose was to demonstrate the ability to conduct air operations in a winter environment.

We had our air wing aboard, and there was a LOT of anti-corrosion work to be done on planes, equipment, and people.

I had a berthing at frame 32, and it was quite a ride that close to the bow as you tried to sleep.
