How The USA Lost Its Syrian Allies -- Josh Rogin, Daily Beast
As the Geneva peace talks loom, the Obama administration has been forced to reach out to the very Islamist groups it once hoped to marginalize.
As the United States moves forward with a summit it hopes will end the civil war in Syria, the Obama administration finds itself alienated from the opposition forces it tried and failed to cultivate for the last two years.

My Comment: America has not only lost it's "Syrian allies" .... but they are now many who are voicing concerns that the U.S. is about to lose it's Middle Eastern allies. As to what is my take .... Con Coughlin's analysis is spot on .... America's Middle Eastern policy has been one of making overtures to our enemies and ignoring the counsel of our allies .... as a result they are going to be consequences to this approach and we are starting to see it now. To say that this has the potential of becoming a U.S. foreign policy disaster is an understatement .... but for the moment (in Washington) this opinion is in the minority.

Where are they going to go??? China? Russia? Others who have held them they have held as enemies for 500, 1000, 5000 years?
The US is finally approaching an intelligent policy toward these people. Let them come to us. Let them tell us what they have to offer.
So far all we have heard is give us, complaints, and more give us. They want our help? Let them earn it.
