No Progress Reported On U.S. - Chinese Talks On China's Self Declared ADIZ In The East China Sea



Joe Biden's Straight Talking Hits Chinese Wall -- The Australian

US Vice-President Joe Biden has failed to convince China to back down from its controversial East China Sea defence zone, despite the global tensions it has caused.

Mr Biden held talks with President Xi Jinping in Beijing that lasted more than five hours, in his second trip to China as the second most-powerful political leader in the US.

Washington has led the global chorus of criticism against China establishing the air-defence identification zone above the disputed Diaoyu Islands, known by Japan as the Senkaku Islands, in the East China Sea.

Both China and Japan claim ownership of the rocky, uninhabitable islands and have been locked in a sovereign dispute over the past year.
