Iranian Navy Secretly Filmed A US Air Craft Carrier At Less Than 500 Meters -- Ground Report
Last year we reported on a matter where the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) naval forces secretly recorded an almost one-hour-long video of a US aircraft carrier operating in the Persian Gulf from a very close distance. This was confirmed by a senior IRGC commander at the time.
The footage was recorded at less than a distance of 500 meters which is close enough to launch an surprise attack!
This is the first time that Iranian forces have tracked, photographed and recorded video of a US aircraft carrier this closely.

My Comment: This is the first time that I am reading this report .... and I have found no video evidence of such an operation. Is this Iranian government propaganda? I can only hope so.
On a side note .... the above video is from an Iranian source that claims that one of their drones was able to monitor the USS Ronald Reagan in the Persian Gulf in 2006.

I was on the USS Ronald Reagan for the 2011 Rimpac deployment. We had an iranian plane trolling us for about 15 minutes one morning. The aircraft was spotted by starboard forward watch (and by the OS's prior) and then it left. During this 15 minutes we didn't manage to get any responding aircraft in the air. It took a few more minutes after it was already gone. The captain came on the ships speaker and started yelling and getting upset and eventually said it if came by again he wasn't going to hesitate shooting it down and that wars are started that way. It had ignored both attempts to communicate with it. Oh also a couple weeks later as we were leaving Singapore, starboard rear spotted an unknown submarine tailing the carrier (I guess its strategic to operate in the wake of the props if it can get that close) and the OS's didnt even see that one. I really felt uncomfortable knowing that it snuck its way into the middle of our battle group (7th fleet). I heard it was either a Russian or Chinese submarine. I am certain it was not ours because of the intense reaction of the upper chain and all the subsequent activity inside the bridge for the next day or so. 2 days after this encounter the ship had its reactor problems again and we were stuck in the middle of the ocean running minimal power for 3 days because we were running emergency generators. This of course means that all the fumes fill up the interior of the ship with a dense smoke. Of all places to be affected the berthing was the worst, 3 days we slept in bad fumes because its not ok to sleep on the outer decks where we could actually breath well. I wrapped a wet cloth around my mouth before bed the 2nd and 3rd night and I think it helped actually. 3 days was a bit longer than usual though. The reagan was always having reactor problems and running off emergency diesel generators. When this happens the rest of the battle group just circles us waiting for the ship to work again. I am not sure if its because it was the newest carrier in the navy at the time, but if the darn thing isn't working on its main power source over 15% of the time this isn't a very reliable war machine.
