Ukraine Unrest: President Viktor Yanukovych's Whereabouts A Mystery As Opposition Calls For Him To Take Responsibility -- ABC News (Australia)
A day after fleeing Kiev and being stripped of his powers by a vote in the Ukrainian parliament, the whereabouts of embattled president Viktor Yanukovych remains a mystery.
Legislators on Saturday passed a resolution to remove Mr Yanukovych from office after three months of street protests, while his arch-rival Yulia Tymoshenko hailed opposition demonstrators as "heroes" in an emotional speech in the capital after she was released from jail.
On Sunday, parliament voted to transfer presidential duties to speaker, Oleksander Turchinov, who ordered a new government be formed by Tuesday. An early election has been set for May 25.
Mr Yanukovych abandoned the capital to the opposition on Saturday and denounced what he described as a coup after several days of bloodshed this week that claimed 82 lives.

My Comment: (Former) Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych is in his home in Donetsk. I am not surprised that the Russians denied him permission to enter the country. He is toxic right now .... and the Russian authorities know that by fleeing into Russia he will only inflame the situation more.
