Billboard Explains How Crimea Referendum Is Being Framed: Russia vs. The Nazis -- Washington Post
With Crimea due to hold a referendum Sunday on potentially leaving Ukraine and joining Russia, the peninsula has, rather quickly, entered campaign season.
A number of those in the region have been sharing one particular striking campaign advertisement:
The billboard's text says "March 16, we choose ..." with a picture of Crimea covered by a Swastika and another of the region dominated by a Russian flag. Between the two pictures the text says "or." The implication doesn't really need to be spelled out.

My Comment: These billboards are "over the top". As to my own prediction on how Crimea will vote .... the majority in Crimea are Russians, and they will vote to secede as a reaction to the new Ukraine government's inclusion of Ukrainian nationalists as well as their commitment to implement laws to ban the Russian language.

The new Ukraine "government" is principally run by neo-Nazis, so the billboard is entirely appropriate.

Regarding the Crimea ballot, there are two choices. Reuniting with Russia seems to have the best chance.
Bloomberg:
The questions on the ballot, as released by the Crimean parliament on its website, will be: “Do you support reuniting Crimea with Russia as a subject of the Russian Federation?” and “Do you support restoring the Crimean Republic’s 1992 Constitution and status within Ukraine?” The second option refers to a law that gives the region the right to determine how much authority to delegate to Kiev.

I personally have no problem with the ballot question .... and as I have mentioned in a previous post .... there is no need to stuff the ballots .... a large majority will vote in favor of Russian reunification.
