Editor's Note

UPDATE Sunday March 16, 2014, 12:29 EST: I still have a lot of work to do. A short version of World News Briefs, the mystery of Malaysian Flight MH370, and the vote in Crimea will be posted within the hour. Regular blogging will return later tonight where much of the posting will be focused on the crisis in Ukraine .... military moves in the region, growing threats and calls for violence from all sides, and the Crimean referendum vote.

Saturday March 15: I have a contract that I am finishing up right now (I sadly need to pay the bills). Blogging will return late tonight.

C'mon, you don't do all this yourself, you must have a staff to post all this material. No one person could do all this -- any fool can see that. I can.

LOL Don Bacon You remind me of my favorite line. "There we were 3 against 10 thousand. I then told my men to spread out".

The editors of Foreign Policy also find it hard to believe that I do this blog by myself .... plus many other things. But I enjoy what I do .... and as an information junkie I enjoy posting what I learn while receiving feedback from all of you.

Sadly .... I use to post up to 50 - 60 news items a day .... but I am getting older and (I hate to admit it) slower. Weekends are also tough because I promised the GF and family that I will spend more time together .... meaning less time in front of the computer. Sighhh .... sacrifice .... sacrifice .... such is life.

I hope you continue with this blog. It's my main source for military and headline news. Very reliable . Easy to read and understand.

Thank you Mark but do not worry .... I have been doing this blog for years .... and I enjoy it tremendously .... especially getting feedback from all of you. If you should ever see the updates for this blog stop .... it would be because I am in hospital with a serious health crisis .... or dead.

DEAD, adj.

Done with the work of breathing; done
With all the world; the mad race run
Though to the end; the golden goal
Attained and found to be a hole!

Go, go I say, earn your sordid shekels. But hasten back, for there are gloves, sashes, foolishness, sadness and tragedy all around to report.

That is a good quote James. Something to ponder about. Thank you
