Poll: Vladimir Putin Is Stronger Than President Obama -- Washington Examiner

Maybe it is the photos of him posing shirtless on horseback, or his military push into Ukraine, but Americans in a new poll believe Russian President Vladimir Putin is a much stronger leader than President Obama.

A YouGov/Economist survey of 1,000 adults interviewed March 8-10 found that 78 percent view Putin as somewhat to very strong leader. Just 45 percent see Obama the same way. Worse, more Americans, 55 percent, view Obama as a weak leader.

The poll comes as the president is struggling with a response to Putin's push into Ukraine and expectations that Crimea will break off and join

My Comment: I have never seen a U.S. poll giving a Russian President a "stronger leader" result than their own President .... this is a first. In Russia ...,. Putin's poll results and favorables are high .... but not as high as I had expected .... Putin’s Rating At 3-Year High on Ukraine Crisis, Sochi Triumph -- RIA Novosti

Update: What's my take on Putin's poll results ....I guess most Americans and Russians believe that Putin is capable of doing anything .... including this. Putin will not be enjoying these numbers, especially if Russians are given a viable alternative.

"Worse, more Americans, 55 percent, view Obama as a weak leader."

Couldn't agree more, what a disappointment he has been with his handling of events, more so in his second term. He should never have been re elected.
Was it a case of best of the worse at the time? I don't know, but I have never seen the US held in such low regard as it is right now.
Sunday moving into Monday will be very interesting and potentially very sad and scary, how it plays out I guess nobody actually knows...

Putin in this situation is a hard read. But he does have a history of protecting Russians when they are in danger. I would like to believe that this military deployment is more cautionary than pro-active .... that if the situation deteriorates he will have his assets in place to respond .... and he will respond. But for the moment ... he is in the waiting period .... waiting for the other shoe to drop.
