Ukraine Unrest Will Be Resolved By Force Or Talks In 48 Hours, Minister Says -- CNN

Kiev (CNN) -- Ukrainian acting Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said Wednesday that the separatist protests in Ukraine's eastern region would be resolved within 48 hours -- either through negotiations or the use of force.

At the same time, Russia insisted that the presence of its troops just over the border was no reason to worry.

The United States and others have accused Russia of fomenting the separatist unrest as a pretext for military intervention.

Using classified and commercial satellite imagery, the United States estimates there are up to 40,000 Russian troops on the border with eastern Ukraine. NATO has also warned of a major troop buildup.

My Comment: There are no negotiations or talks underway right now .... and I doubt that there will be any in the near future. Ukraine's threat that it will use troops to stop these protests and building occupations has been called .... is this a bluff or a real threat? .... we will probably be getting our answer by Friday or the weekend at the latest. But if the Ukraine government does use force .... and there is a lot of bloodshed .... demands for Moscow to intervene will intensify, and Putin will be under enormous pressure to send in troops to protect the Russian community. He will also be under pressure from the West to not intervene.
