EU Could Lose 1 Trillion Euros From Further Sanctions Against Moscow – Russian Official -- RIA Novosti
MOSCOW, April 7 (RIA Novosti) – EU financial losses if broad economic sanctions are imposed against Russia could reach a trillion euros, according to Sergei Glazyev, an adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“It’s an open question who would sustain greater losses from the sanctions,” Glazyev told the Russian RT TV channel in an interview over the weekend.
“If the US tries to apply the Iranian model, which implies a total isolation from the global financial system denominated in US dollars and euros, then, according to our calculations, the losses for the EU may reach one trillion euros,” he added.

My Comment: I guess this explains why the Germans are nervous ..... EU - Russian business/investment/and trade amounts to hundreds of billions of dollars each year, any risk to it will have profound consequences for everyone. As to this Russian Presidential adviser's comments .... he is right .... sanctions will cause irreparably damage to both sides .... a deep shock to the financial system .... and a guarantee to produce a deep recession that will probably last for a long time. As to the possibility of a world war .... I am skeptical of such a prediction but it is true that wars have started in the past for far less.

I was wondering when the Russians would make it clear they were dead serious about all this, well this and the natural gas ultimatum have done just that and more. This will at a minimum split the Europeans and most likely detach most of Europe from the US's position. If Putin's main purpose in all of this was to destroy NATO, he hardly couldn't done a better job.
You are joking, right? Be serious please... Germany can leave without RUS, but RUS is a failed and even more corrupt country without any ties with Europe. Putin is at US mercy, US only need to rise gas and oil exports to curb the Russian Mafia. RUS as IRN cant leave without higher prices on Oil and Gas. And dont forget one thing : UKRAINE IS INDEPENT!
