Heavy Fighting Reported Between Yemeni Forces And Al Qaeda Militants

State Media: Dozens Of Militants Killed In Yemen -- CNN

(CNN) -- At least 37 militants were killed by the Yemeni military as part of an ongoing series of operations against al Qaeda, the country's state news agency reported Sunday.

Saba, quoting a military source, said more than 10 other militants were wounded in the counterterrorism operations in Shabwa governate.

Recent operations against suspected terrorists have included attacks by Yemeni commandos and suspected U.S. drone strikes, a high-level Yemeni government official told CNN Thursday.
