Iran, Six World Powers Aiming for July 20 Agreement
VIENNA—The latest round of nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers ended Friday without the two sides putting out a joint statement.
The talks, which aim to seal a comprehensive nuclear agreement by July 20 that curtails Iran's nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, ran from Wednesday morning to early evening Friday.
Iran says its nuclear program is for purely civilian purposes. The six powers—the U.S., France, the U.K., China, Russia and Germany—want to craft an agreement that prevents Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
Both sides had said they would start drafting the text of the agreement during this week's talks.
