Ukrainian Troops Destroy Separatist Bases Near Kramatorsk, Slovyansk -- NBC
The Ukrainian army claimed fresh military successes Thursday against separatists in the east, saying its troops destroyed two pro-Russian bases during overnight operations.
The renewed offensive came as diplomatic efforts appeared to flounder, with round-table peace talks in Kiev yielding no signs of progress after launching Wednesday without any separatist leaders.
Ukraine's acting President Oleksandr Turchynov told parliament that one base near the city of Kramatorsk and another outside Slovyansk had been "fully cleansed of terrorists," according to Interfax Ukraine and The Associated Press.
The country's defense ministry told the AP that there were no casualties in the push, and that the army took three insurgents captive, one of whom had an anti-tank rocket-propelled grenade launcher.

This video was interesting to me. There wasn't a rucksack in sight. None of the troops seemed to have any type of kit nor was there much strapped to the light armor you saw. No extra ammo anywhere and the helo's rocket pod (on US choppers it would similar to a 2.75" rocket pod) was stone cold empty! Unless I'm not seeing correctly these guys have got about enough gear for about 15 to 30 minutes of heavy fighting.
Your analysis is spot on James. My sources in Ukraine tell me that they are all lightly armed with a limited supply of munitions. but they have an even bigger problem .... not enough food, toilet paper, and no one is doing their laundry.
WNU,
I don't care what anyone says the order of importance will always be ammo, water, food, medicine with ammo far and away the most important without it what's the point.
That is so true.
