Ukraine Holds Talks To End Crisis, Rebels Not Invited -- Reuters
(Reuters) - Ukrainian politicians and civil groups gathered on Wednesday for talks on how to quell a pro-Russian rebellion in the east, but Kiev's refusal to let separatists take part cast doubt on whether the meeting could defuse the crisis.
The talks come at a tense moment for Kiev. On Tuesday, seven soldiers were killed in an ambush near the eastern city of Kramatorsk, the deadliest attack on security forces since they were sent to tackle the uprising in April.
Voters in the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk backed self-rule in two referendums held on Sunday despite protestations from Kiev, which sees Russia's hand behind the rebellion and denounced the votes as illegal.

My Comment: All the parties are not present in these talks .... so I am skeptical. But Russia and the West are supporting these talks .... and I am still hopeful that this will be the first step towards some form of reconciliation. In the end .... pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine will need to be accommodated .... and this (I predict) will probably be the biggest stumbling block in any future talks.

If they are trying to stop a civil war from starting they would have too act quickly. I hope Ukraine wil stop the militarys anti-terror mission and acsept that Donets and Lugansk wil be indepedent. If none of this happens I think it wil be a form of civil war. Because my news in Norway said that 8 Ukrainien soldiers got killed tonight near Slaviansk.(this event is not the one that happened yesterday were 6 soldiers got killed) RT says Slaviansk is trying to prepare a offensive against the soldiers who is sorrounding the city. Here is what they wrote:11:05 GMT:
Donetsk region militia may change their tactic from fending off attacks of Kiev loyalist troops to launching their own massive offensive, RIA Novosti reported, citing Stella Khorosheva the spokesperson for Slavyansk’s “people’s mayor”.
“We’ve had enough of waiting for their attacks,”she said.
Slavyansk militia have previously launched occasional incursions out of their stronghold, attacking a nearby TV tower and positions in the hills, from which Kiev’s troops have shelled militia positions near the city.
But starting a massive offensive instead of hit-and-run raids would require many more troops than the militia is believed to have in their ranks. Kiev sent several thousand troops armed with heavy weapons, armor and aviation against Slavyansk, while the number of militiamen is estimated at several hundred.
Its shooting in Ukraine again. The millitary is gathering around Starovarvarovka village. I think the peace deal was too late. And if you have any info about this i wil be happy to hear it and when will you update the Slaviansk article? and can you answer to the comment above this one. Sorry if i am asking so many questions but you are a reliabe sourch and you know much so i like hearing your opinons:)
