I get the inescapable feeling that this is somehow tied with the recent corruption hunt going on in China recently.

Somehow I get the impression that this has been done with the 'blessing' of certain top-level Chinese officials.

Call me a tin-foil hat nutty, but I would wager that the Chinese have passed the names of these officials onto the Americans in a bid to 'hound' them or seize certain assets. I just can't escape the feeling that its linked somehow to their corruption crusade.

An interesting analysis D. Plowman because at the moment there is a massive purge of Chinese military and security officials. You just gave me a reason to look into the bios of these officials and to see who they are (or who they know).
