ISIS Just Attacked Iran -- Jassem Al Salami, War Is Boring

Iranian troops die in Qasre Shirin border clash.

On June 19, militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria attacked Iranian border guards near Iran’s border city of Qasre Shirin, according to Iranian social media.

A photograph showed the bodies of at least two Iranian officers apparently killed in the skirmish. Iran’s state-controlled media didn’t initially report the clash at Qasre Shirin, as Tehran routinely censors violent border incidents.

But Iranian officials took an unusual step and eventually talked about this particular incident. The first official to react was Fath Allah Hosseini, Qasre Shirin’s representative in the Iranian parliament. Hosseini insisted that residents were not afraid of ISIS, which has captured much of northwestern Iraq in recent weeks.

Update: Iranian Security Forces Attacked On Border, Possibly By ISIS, State Media Claims -- IBTimes

My Comment: ISIS is not near the Iranian border (see the above map) .... so putting blame on them is a bit of stretch. Then again .... the Iranians are getting nervous.

Maybe this is their justification to send troops to Iraq

The purported border clash could be a pretext.

Google map says it is 62 to 80 kilometers (59 minutes or 37 miles) by road from Jalula, Iraq to Qasre Shirin, Iran.

If ISIS is attacking Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Iran i think it is crazy. Sooner or later the money flows form donors in Saudia Arabia have to get cut off. at this point It think Saudi Arabia has had enough. It is no longer fun and games for them.

Qatar is another matter. If there is a war between Saudi Arabia and Iran and Saudi Arabia can swing it, Qatar gets fragged. I think Saudi Arabia has had enough of them too.
