Bomb Explodes Near Afghan Presidential Frontrunner's Convoy -- Voice of America
At least four people have been killed after a pair of explosions struck the convoy of Afghan presidential frontrunner Abdullah Abdullah.
At least 16 people were wounded in the blasts, which occurred shortly after Abdullah left a campaign rally in Kabul on Friday. Security officials say at least one of the blasts involved a suicide bomber. Abdullah was not injured, but in a televised statement shortly after the attack he said that two of his bodyguards were wounded.
There were no immediate claims of responsibility. But on Monday, the Taliban warned voters to stay away from the polls during the June 14 presidential runoff.
