U.S. Marine Jet Crashes In A California Neighborhood



No Injuries In Crash Of US Marine Jet -- Voice of America

A U.S. Marine jet crashed into a residential area in southern California Wednesday.

The Harrier jet went down in a neighborhood in the town of Imperial, located east of San Diego near the U.S.-Mexico border. At least two houses were destroyed in the crash but no residents were killed or injured.

The pilot managed to safety eject before the crash, but was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. The plane took off from a Marine air base located in Yuma, Arizona, about 106 kilometers east of Imperial.
