The Israeli Military's 'Roof Knocking' Technique Caught On Camera

Israeli 'Knock On The Roof' Bombing Technique Caught On Film (VIDEO) -- RT

The IDF practice of firing a missile at a civilian home to warn the occupants to leave the building before a larger attack, has been caught on film. Amnesty International has decried “roof knocking,” saying it in no way constitutes an “effective warning.”

A YouTube video uploaded on Saturday shows how a Palestinian house in Samir Nofal is struck by a warning shot before being destroyed about a minute later by a full missile attack.

My comment: I could be wrong .... but my gut is telling me that the people who put their camera to record what happened were expecting an airstrike and wanted to catch it on film.

I see a couple scenarios.

The IDF phones the building and tells everyone to flee. Everyone flees and yells, someone across the street hears the screams, sees the evacuation, sets his cell phone up on the counter, and runs. After a while the IDF drops a flare onto the roof that we don't see in this short video so civilians have more confirmation there is incoming and hide so we don't see anyone. Then we see what we ge in the clip.

Version 2 I find less plausible. IDF sets up a camera on the identical situation and releases it to make a couple of points at least. If you are an enemy of Isreal we can jam a rocket down your throat, or I you are a civilian and we call you and tell you we are going to blow up your building, this is how it will look, so get out.

Either way some points are made very clear. Israel is clear, if you hit them, they will hit back harder. At any rate, it is the civilians who pay the price on both sides.
