Most Think The U.S. Has No Responsibility To Act In Iraq -- PEW
More Link Violence to Iraq’s Religious Rivalries Than to U.S. Actions
As violence and chaos spreads in Iraq, the public is wary of U.S. involvement in the country. A 55% majority says the United States does not have a responsibility to do something about the violence in Iraq; 39% do see a responsibility to act.
Overall public awareness of the situation in Iraq is high: 45% say they have heard a lot about the violence in Iraq and takeover of large parts of the country by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). However, more Americans (57%) say they have heard a lot about the recent influx of unaccompanied minors across the U.S.-Mexican border illegally.

My Comment: The majority is correct on this one. The U.S. has shed enough blood and treasure on Iraq .... and the Iraqis made it very clear to the U.S. three years ago that they wanted them out. The Iraqis will need to sort their chaos by themselves .... and if they cannot .... I say to them (and to everyone else) be prepared for a fracturing of the country into three parts.

Never has a polling company had a more appropriate name.
Slightly o/t, but I feel some remorse on teasing you with the "wine in the box". It is somewhat obvious your are a oenologist with a refined palate for the fruit of the vine. Alas, not I. I was only endowed with an ear for good vin, I demonstrate:

Do we owe the Iraqis?
We did shed blood and treasure. We do not really owe them.
But What will happen in Iraq is what happened in Afghanistan.
"It trained over 5,000 militants in camps in Afghanistan since the late 1980s. It also serves as a focal point for a worldwide network that includes many Sunni Islamic extremist groups, some members of al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya, the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, and the Harakat ul-Mujahidin."

As I think you pointed out (or maybe it was LWJ) that ISIS is selling or will be selling oil through Turkey.
So they have the physical area and the funds to do it. They also have recruits from across the world including Europe.
Maybe Iran rolls ISIS back? Maybe the tribal Sunni rise up against ISIS? Maybe Obama gets some huevos?
I don't know. All I do is try to find out through OSI (Open Source Intelligence)
LOL James
I have no problem when I am the butt of ridicule .... especially when it comes to wine. :)
Case in point .... whenever I go with the GF to see a comic/comedy show .... I always make sure that I have the front table. I am an incredibly easy target .... and I completely revel in it .... the GF (of course) always jumps in to help the comic.
One of the best times that I ever had in my life was in San Francisco when we went to see a Robin Williams performance. We had the front table and when he learned a little about my background at the beginning of his show .... he zeroed in and for the rest of the show I was completely and utterly destroyed. His Russian imitation is so authentic .... words just cannot describe it. But Mr. Williams is a class act ... after the show he came to our table to thank us for being OK with everything .... and he bought us a rounds of drinks. You never forget moments like that .... because the good ones are usually rare.
If you cannot laugh at yourself .... what's the point of living.
A tower of strength you are, Mr. WNU.
