Obama: 'Russia Doesn't Make Anything,' West Must Be Firm With China -- Reuters
(Reuters) - President Barack Obama dismissed Russia as a nation that "doesn't make anything" and said in an interview with the Economist magazine that the West needs to be "pretty firm" with China as Beijing pushes to expand its role in the world economy.
Obama has tried to focus U.S. foreign policy on Asia, a response to China's economic and military might. But for months, that "pivot" has been overshadowed by a flurry of international crises, including Russia's support for separatists in eastern Ukraine.
Russia is the world's third-largest oil producer and second-largest natural gas producer. Europe relies heavily on Russian energy exports, complicating the West's response to the Ukraine crisis.
Obama downplayed Moscow's role in the world, dismissing President Vladimir Putin as a leader causing short-term trouble for political gain that will hurt Russia in the long term.

As to his remark that 'Russia Doesn't Make Anything' .... I am at a lost on how to respond .... the ignorance of this U.S. President is sometimes truly astounding ... then again .... in all fairness his predecessors had their faults too.

Just a heads up. The audio on this post is auto play. Very annoying.
Thank you for the heads up Alex. I hate auto-play.
After the NSA disclosures governments across the world have decided to boycott CISCO and make their own router and other equipment.
The Russians already make lots of stuff and will be making more of their own stuff (like routers).
Meanwhile Obama stays stuck on stupid.
