Syria Death Toll 'More Than 191,000' -- BBC
More than 191,000 people have been killed in the Syrian conflict up to April, the UN human rights chief says.
Navi Pillay said the figure was "probably an underestimate" and criticised what she called "international paralysis" on the issue.
The figure is more than double the UN estimate given a year ago.
Opposition groups in Syria have been fighting President Bashar al-Assad for over three years, but have lost ground in recent months.
The UN report was based on data from four different monitoring groups and the Syrian government which was then cross-checked.

My Comment: 6,000 Syrians are being killed every month .... and what is worse is that the civil war shows no signs of ending .... and it may even be escalating.

I am happy Putin convinced Obama to not start a war against Assad since the there would be even more chaos. I agree with you Peter there are many countries who are supporting IS and its a shame hope america dosent mess this up even more. Hope Putin pernhaps can get more involved since he is very good at his foreign policy.
Yes let's get Putin more involved more than he already is that will solve everything.
It will not solve everything but it will help in a positive way.
I kindly disagree he's more worry about Russia military port above anything. And he's been supporting assad's regime from the get go with everything he needs to stay in power.
