Former Vice President Dick Cheney laid into President Barack Obama and his administration today for failing to recognize sooner the perils of allowing the Islamic State to thrive in Iraq and Syria.

My Comment: I know that most will discount what former Vice President Cheney is saying on what the U.S. should do in the Middle East because .... well .... because it is coming from Dick Cheney. But .... at the end of tonight .... ignoring the criticism of the Obama administration from the former Vice President .... I am willing to predict that President Obama will be implementing a policy that will drag the U.S. into a wider war in the Middle East and that most parts of the policy will (privately) meet the approval of former VP Cheney. Whether or not it is the right policy .... only time will tell .... but I do know that recent history has not been kind to the U.S. or to the Middle East when the U.S. military becomes the instrument of U.S. policy in the region .... and I pray to God that we are not repeating history tonight.
