France Announces First Strikes On ISIL Target -- Al Jazeera

Two fighter jets took part in US-led operation that destroyed logistics depot held by Sunni rebel group, president says.

France has carried out its first air strikes against positions of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, joining a US-led operation to defeat the Sunni rebel group.

In a statement issued on Friday, French President Francois Hollande said the strike destroyed a logistics depot held by ISIL.

It said that at least two Rafale fighter jets were involved in the operation in northeastern Iraq, and that the target was "entirely destroyed".

Hollande's office also said other operations would continue in the coming days.

If this follows the run up to Nam (which it's getting a little eerie), then we'll get a laundry list of things destroyed (supply depots, vehicles, enemy concentrations attacked, etc). Obama's made a mistake in letting it be known he's taking personal charge of individual target approval. This sets responsibility of what ensues squarely on him.
