Obama Makes The Case For War Against ISIS As He Promises To 'Take Out' The Terror Group In Iraq AND Syria: 'You Will Find No Safe Haven' -- Daily Mail

President Barack Obama said Wednesday night that he intends to pursue terrorists from the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) across the invisible border between Iraq and Syria if that's necessary to defeat them. He also pledged to avoid putting tens of thousands of American boots on the ground there.

In a four-point plan laid out Wednesday night the U.S. leader announced coming airstrikes in both countries, additional support for Iraqi army units, counter-terrorism activities to hamstring ISIS, and renewed humanitarian aid for victims of ISIS militants.

'This counter-terrorism campaign will be waged through a steady, relentless effort to take out ISIL wherever they exist,' Obama vowed, referring to ISIS by its alternate name, 'using our air power and our support for partner forces on the ground.'

A senior Pentagon official confirmed that 'the U.S. military is ready to conduct direct action against ISIL targets in Syria.'
