Syria's Rebels Tell The U.S. That They Will Decide Who To Wage War Against, Not Who The White House Tells Them To

Syrian Rebels: We'll Use U.S. Weapons to Fight Assad, Whether Obama Likes It or Not -- Josh Rogin, Daily Beast

If the U.S. arms the Free Syrian Army to fight ISIS, they are going to battle the Syrian regime at the same time—no matter what the White House says.

President Obama has reversed course, and is finally promising to openly arm the moderate Syrian opposition. But he wants the rebels to use those weapons to fight only ISIS, not the Bashar al-Assad regime. The Syrian rebels plan to use them to fight both at the same time.

For the Free Syrian Army, the loose conglomeration of opposition fighters that are not extremists and not aligned with the Assad regime, the war against ISIS began long before President Obama’s prime time speech Wednesday night. They have been battling ISIS for a year and fighting the Assad regime for over three years. For all that time, they have been begging the United States to send them weapons, but the CIA program to arm them has been extremely limited. They are getting beaten on both fronts, badly.

My Comment: Telling who you can use your weapons against may make sense in the White House .... but if the enemy is attacking you and the only weapon that you have is one that has been supplied by the U.S. .... would you stop and check your manual to see if it is permitted? I doubt it.

This is just one more example on why .... in the eyes of Syria's "moderate" rebel groups .... President Obama and the U.S. does not have any credibility.

Craziness... People say Obama has no plan... Look at a world map lately? Draw a line down from Norway down through Iraq.. Draw a lin e from south Korea through the Philippines to Australia... Those lines represent Americas borders after ww2. They are buffer zones the us built to protect its self from invasion... The US has invested the past 60 years protecting(NATO) and investing in the development of several countries in those regions that have now become strong industrial and military powers themselfs... South Korea, Japan, Australia on the east-west border. Germany, Poland, turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt just to name a few... Pawns positioned for another great war...

Some times I wonder, what if ww2 didn't end in 1945. What if it ended 5 years later after the US and its allies invaded and defeated Stalins Russia.... Well, maybe that would of taken another 10 years... Maybe there would be no threats of nuclear war or proliferation of such weapons... Maybe Russia would be just as friendly and economicly strong as Germany and Japan are today...

I digress.

But yeah Iraq is just another reason to keep making bullets and keeping Americas war machine greased and prepared...

But in my opinion, the US should arm and support the only obvious US allies in the region. The Kurds. Promise the Kurds there own state stretching across north Iraq to the Syrian border. Contain Isis inside Syria and pretty much concede south Iraq to Iran...

Just saying...
