The Battle For The Syrian - Kurdish City Of Kobani Has Become A Spectator Sport In Turkey

Fight For Kobani Is A Spectator Sport In Turkey -- USA Today

SURUC, Turkey — The battle for control of the Syrian border town of Kobani has become a spectator sport of sorts for some Kurds on the Turkish side of the border. Dozens of people spend the day sitting on the hills outside Suruc, scouring the skyline for signs of the fighting.

On Thursday, as soon as a jet flew overhead, a murmur ran through the crowd. Those with binoculars followed the plane circling Kobani, hoping to see another airstrike by the U.S.-led coalition like the one they saw in the morning.

My Comment: Spectator sport now .... and while IS has probably has no ambitions beyond the Syria - Turkey border, who is the say that the Islamic State will (in some future time) will cross the border and bring the war to Turkey.

Turkey is neck deep in supporting ISIS and Al Nusra in Syria,

Fully committed to toppling Assad and weakening Iraq,

And dreams at night of the Old Ottoman Empire.

ISIS will not chop off the hands of those that feed, cloth and arm it, not until all the other hands have been chopped off first, and that's a long list of hands.

ISIS and Turkey have a mutually beneficial relationship, until that changes all you'll see is talk and photo ops.

Publius had commented on Turkey's motivations a few days ago along the same lines. But it is true .... Turkey's priorities are .... toppling Assad, hostility towards Israel, crippling Iraq, putting Iran in check, and having the Saudis and the Gulf States pay "their respects" to Ankara.
