Special report: The Government has admitted that the virus spreading across Africa will 'get worse'
The Ebola virus spreading exponentially across Africa and killing thousands of people “will get worse”, the Government has admitted, amid calls for the full involvement of the international military to contain the disease.
Justine Greening, the International Development Secretary, said that ministers had been shocked by a prediction from the US public health institute that 1.4 million people may be infected by the virus by January if it continues unchecked.
As ministers, diplomats and humanitarian organisations from 20 different countries pledged a further £79 million to control the outbreak, which has already killed more than 3,000 people, a group of 35 European security officials issued a joint declaration suggesting that Ebola should be treated in the same way as the threat posed by nuclear weapons.

If you talk to the professionals, the public health personnel, they aren't panicking. At least when it comes to Ebola in Western Europe or the United States.
As long as it doesn't become airborne.
I've been trying to do research on the susceptability of the virus to mutation. There's not a lot out there. They feel like it's already mutated quite a bit, but no indication that it has or will become airborne.
The Black Death went Airborne.It has 3 forms of the disease Transmission.
I understand that black death was a bacteria and Ebola is a relatively fragile virus, but

Supposedly, this worked for cavemen. I kid you not.
Hominids entering new area might be more technologically and culturally advanced. They might be smarter, but they would not have the built up disease resistance of the indigenous population. So there might be warfare, but there usually is some remnant of the indigenous population in the present population.
