VinyardSaker has a interesting post up today, noting that The Ministry, is being accused of massively under reporting casualties, by both the Left and the Right.
I can tell that you are a new reader Jay. I have been saying the same thing for a long time on this blog. I have two friends who are parliamentarians in the Ukraine government .... and both of them have been independently telling me that the casualty numbers have been underestimated since the start of the conflict. They are telling me that in total .... Ukraine militia and military .... a minimum of 5,000 were killed. Rebel casualties and civilian are probably far worse. Russian military .... I am hearing from my sources in Moscow they had experienced anywhere from 200 to 400 KIA.
It should be noted that these numbers have not been verified by independent sources .... so take them with the grain of salt that I do.
