Tonight's Movie Is Conspiracy (2001)

From YouTube: Conspiracy is a television film which dramatizes the 1942 Wannsee Conference. The film delves into the psychology of Nazi officials involved in the "Final Solution of the Jewish Question" during World War II. It is an English-language adaptation of the German film The Wannsee Conference (1984) which is a must see for anyone who appreciates WW2, Holocaust historical films.

The movie was written by Loring Mandel (inspired after viewing a 1984 documentary on the subject), directed by Frank Pierson, and starred an ensemble cast, including Kenneth Branagh as Reinhard Heydrich and Stanley Tucci as Adolf Eichmann. Branagh won an Emmy Award for Best Actor, and Tucci was awarded a Golden Globe for his supporting role as Eichmann.

My Comment: This is the first time that I have seen this movie. Disturbing does not even come close to describing this film.

Saw it when it first came out. The thing is people just like these things walk today among us, they just haven't shall we say realized their "potential". Also, no country or ideology should ever be so smug as to say it can't happen here or we would never do such a thing.

The lesson to be learned about Germany and the rise of Hitler is that if it can happen in a society that was modernized and educated as the Germans were .... it can happen anywhere.
