U.S. Intensifies Airstrikes Against The Islamic Satte In Both Syria And Iraq

The US has launched airstrikes against Isis targets in Iraq and Syria (Reuters)

US-Led Coalition Hits Isis Targets In Syria And Iraq -- IBTimes

The US-led coalition has carried out 27 airstrikes against Islamic State militants in the past three days, according US military officials.

The airstrikes targeted fighting positions, buildings and fortifications close to the Syrian cities of Kobani and Aleppo, as well as positions close to the border with Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force said in a statement.

Airstrikes were also launched on targets near the Iraqi cities of Ramadi, Ar Rutbah, Mosul, al-Qaim, Samarra, Rawah and al Asad.

The coalition launched airstrikes against militants from the group in August, after it seized territory in Iraq and Syria. The group controls the Iraqi city of Mosul, as well as the Syrian city of Raqqa.
