Reuters: Russia could soon run multiple Ukraine-sized operations: U.S. general

WNU Editor: Even if Russia achieves the goals that they have outlined in their defense policy and via through public announcements .... they will still be a fraction of what NATO and the U.S. could deploy. But I understand why Lieutenant-General Ben Hodges is pushing his analysis .... he has to see what is the worst case scenario from a military perspective .... and then convey his analysis to his political bosses.

As to what is my take .... the crisis in Ukraine is going to escalate and it is the wild card in everyone's estimations .... but for the moment in Moscow it is sanctions, low oil prices, budget deficits, and a looming recession that Russia is focused on and will be in the coming months .... not sitting down and plotting strategies that would target countries like Georgia or the Baltic states.

Update: For Russia's military today, the 3 crucial geopolitical front-lines are the following .... Russia Is Reinforcing 3 Crucial Geopolitical Frontlines (Jeremy Bender, Business Insider).
