WNU Editor: As I had mentioned when this story first broke out .... Maj. Gen James Post can now kiss his third star goodbye. But if he or anyone else was actively involved in conducting an investigation to find out who has been talking to Congress so that they can be punished .... that person should be fired immediately.

This makes me suspicious. I think it might be a hit piece.
Why the story?
I assume that people in the DoD & White House want the program dead and are putting out stories to smear it.
Consider an analogy:
Different doctors have different rates of poor outcomes such as deaths. But it does not mean that a doctor who has had a large # of patients die is a bad doctor and should have is malpractice premiums jacked up and their license pulled.
One needs to know the procedure performed, its' risk and the patient state of health.
If you take a summat statistic you have nothing a lot of times until you see how it was created. You need to drill down.
For example if some doctor only take patients who have Stage IV cancer, is it fair to compare them to doctors who are treating patients who treat patients who are at stage I, II & III.
A fast moving platform can be used to bomb enemy who are in contact with US troops but not close or danger close. The A10 is probably used when a plane has to get in closer because the enemy is already danger close or whatever the terminology is.
