They knew something was going to happen ... but you are right James .... they were caught napping, or the Hezbollah team that did this was/is really good.

Let's put it this way, over confidence is a top 3 way to get yourself killed. From what I understand the Israelis in this case had it in spades. On the other hand it may be a mistake for Hezbollah to show their capabilities for what's really a minor tit for tat. Historically Israelis are very good at lessons learned.

In an airport terminal with limited time and wifi - just picking this news up now...

It was a soft target, soldiers travelling in Isuzu D-Max pickups with no protection, struck by Kornet missiles on a civilian road.
