Polish Foreign Minister: Ukrainian Soldiers Were Primarily Responsible For Liberating The Auschwitz Death Camp

WNU Editor: As I had said in a previous post .... hundreds of thousands of Soviet soldiers were killed liberating Poland from five and half years of Nazi occupation ... a liberation that all Poles were grateful for. As to the Polish Foreign Minister's remarks that it was the Ukrainians who liberated the Auschwitz death camp .... he could not be more wrong. My father served for a time in the Ukrainian Army group .... and it was named this way because they fought through Ukraine .... not because they were Ukrainian (though my father was a Russian Ukrainian). He also never saw himself as a Ukrainian soldier .... he always saw himself as a Soviet soldier and officer. He was not at Auschwitz .... but he was in the Army group that liberated Krakov, and he did pass through two death camps that were liberated the day before (one in Poland and one in Germany). On the issue of the death camps .... he never wanted to talk about what he saw with the exception that the camps that he saw were filled with victims from all over Europe .... and not necessarily because they were Jewish. As he put it .... "the Nazis did not care who you were if you opposed them .... the death camp was their solution for you". As to today's "controversy and claims" .... I know that if my father was alive today he would be absolutely livid. Sighhh .... fortunately he is not.

Update: While researching this story I did find an article that cheered me up .... especially because it gave me an insight into what my father must have been thinking about when he was fighting his way through Poland and liberating regions that were occupied by these Nazi monsters .... 'You Could See Happiness In Their Eyes': Russian Veteran Recalls Soviet Liberation Of Auschwitz (Radio Free Europe).

Last week, Yat's blamed WWII on the Soviet Invasion of Germany and the / Ukraine,

When you really, really want a war, revising history is such a little thing to do.

some polls show that up to 80% of Americans won WWII single handedly.

WNU Editor,

Case in point, proven.

Only Ex-pat and Nationiist, ( in the bad way) hold that opinion. And of course, they ignore the post-war ethnic cleansing of Poland.
