The Case Against Former CIA Director David Petraeus Is Getting Interesting (Updated)

Eli Lake, Bloomberg: Petraeus Caught in Obama's War on Leaks

WNU Editor: An interesting Bloomberg post from Eli Lake on how the White House treats reporters when it comes to state secrets .... and how they are given access to intel that they would normally not be given to. As to the impending charges against Petraeus .... my gut is telling me that there are going to be a few more surprises coming out of this case. But if he committed a crime and is charge and convicted ... even if he is war hero, there should be consequences.

They kept this stuff over his head to keep him quiet during sensitive political times, now their trying to dispose of it as smoothly as possible, hence the plea deal offers and the threat of prosecution if he doesn't take them. Apparently though he isn't playing ball and may take a public trial, which I guarantee the Administration doesn't want. Don't get me wrong if he did break the law then the past and position should not shield him, but that should also apply to many many more.

Yup .... also Eli Lake's article is interesting. This administration's policy on sharing secrets is not uniform .... one set of rules for you, another set for me. A public trial will open this can of worms.

Obama and Holder's treatment of Petraeus is shameful, and reveal more of their deeply flawed thinking and ideology than anything Petraeus did that was wrong. When oh when will the US be free of the parasitic Obama administration??? :-(
