WNU Editor: When you mothball major parts of your military .... there are consequences. In Britain's case .... if there is a Russian sub in the neighborhood .... it appears that they no longer have the capability anymore to even defend their coastline.

It's more about mismanagement.

Thet launched the new QE Class Carrier, but all it can carry is helecopters, because they mothballed the Harriers, and the F-35 wont be available for years.

The current plan is that in about 3 years, US Marines will start flying from the British Aircraft Carriers.
